Document Search Types

The Document Search Tool supports the following types of word and phrase search. The type of search is selected from the Match drop-down list in the Document Search dialog:

 

Match Type

Description

All words

Matched documents must contain one or more occurrences of all the words. For example unix linux would find all documents containing both unix and linux.

Phrase

Matched documents must contain a phrase consisting of all the words. For example windows 10 would find all documents containing the phrase windows 10.

One or more words

Matched documents must contain at least one of the words. For example linux unix would find all documents containing the word unix or the word linux or both.

File name

The file names of matched documents must contain at least one of the searched for words.

Query

A document will be selected if they satisfy the document query you have entered.
